My previous thermometer took forever to register a stable temperature. With this product I get an accurate reading in about 5 seconds or less. The only downside is that the thermometer itself is not very long. The cover detaches and attaches to the back end to serve as an extended handle. The problem is that the connection is not very secure and can come off during handling as you insert the thermometer for a temperature reading. But this is a small inconvenience in view of obtaining a quick and accurate reading.

it is just a common piece of equipment. looks ok, works ok, but buttons are a bit too sturdy

This thermometer works very well and I have used it several times. It is easy to calibrate. You have to be patient as it takes a short time to read the temperature but not too long.
